Mounting a Stock
There are several options for how to mount our Camera/Scope Stock
Mounted to MonoRail
Best for heavy lenses and maximum rigidity. Allows use of monopod, tripod, gimbal and accessories such as grip, flash brackets and strap mounts. Maximum versatility, adjustabilty, and rigidity. Reduces the ability to use portrait view or add TC's. Can be adjusted/reconfigured to function as in the next example.
Mounted to arca plate on lens foot
Good for shorter, lighter lenses. For medium large lenses a straight MonoRail is recommended. Eliminates ability to mount to tripod, monopod, gimbal and the use of accessories unless a straight MonoRail of sufficient length is used. Fore and aft adjustment of camera position is limited to the length of arca plate used. Does not eliminate play in tripod collar and lens mount. Increases ease of adding TC's and allows portrait view.
Mounted to arca plate on camera body
Only for light lenses and metal bodied cameras. Minimum versatility and adjustability. Eliminates ability to mount to tripod, monopod, gimbal and the use of accessories unless a straight MonoRail of sufficient length is used. Fore and aft adjustment of camera position is limited to the length of arca plate used. Does not eliminate play in tripod collar and lens mount.
Does not allow portrait view. Increases ease of adding TC's.
